A $1.1 million jackpot and two other winning tickets remain unclaimed with expiration dates closing in.
TRENTON, N.J. — More than $1.5 million in unclaimed New Jersey Lottery prizes could soon be lost unless the winning tickets are claimed before their expiration dates, including a Jersey Cash 5 jackpot worth more than $1.1 million.
The New Jersey Lottery is urging players to check old tickets after announcing that three winning tickets purchased last summer remain unclaimed. Under state lottery rules, tickets expire exactly one year after the drawing date.
The largest unclaimed prize is a Jersey Cash 5 jackpot worth $1,148,993. The winning ticket was purchased for the Aug. 8 drawing at E & T Food Market, 462 River Styx Road in Hopatcong, Sussex County. The prize expires on Aug. 8.
Another unclaimed Jersey Cash 5 ticket worth $342,777 was purchased for the July 19 drawing at QuickChek #63, 410 Route 31 South in Ringoes, Hunterdon County. That ticket must be claimed by July 19.
The third unclaimed ticket is worth $50,000 from the Aug. 23 Powerball drawing. It was purchased at ShopRite #522, 877 St. George Ave. in Woodbridge, Middlesex County, and expires on Aug. 23.
Lottery officials are encouraging anyone who purchased tickets from those retailers around the drawing dates to search places where lottery tickets are often stored, including drawers, wallets, vehicles and clothing pockets.
Players can check tickets by scanning them at any New Jersey Lottery retailer, using the NJ Lottery mobile app, or entering ticket numbers manually through the ticket checker at NJLottery.com/TicketChecker.
