MACON COUNTY, NC – Deputies are urging drivers to use extreme caution after several tire-puncture devices were found scattered on a roadway, prompting an active investigation and cleanup operation.
The Macon County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the discovery Saturday, calling the incident a serious threat to public safety.
Officials said the North Carolina Department of Transportation was immediately notified and crews were deployed to remove the hazardous devices.
Deputies are now working to identify whoever is responsible for placing them on the road.
