TOMS RIVER, NJ – It was a crazy day for David Giordano, a man police in Toms River say has a history with the department. Giordano as we reported earlier was the man who painted the blue line in Downtown Toms River.
Now, as we had known, but could not confirm earlier, Giordano’s ride through Toms River was a wild one.
Jillian began his day taking his truck which he took out of an impound yard on Route in Toms River days ago to Downtown Toms River. He then made his way downtown to paint the blue line on Hooper Avenue before giving Toms River Mayor Maurice Hill a big “F–k You!” where he parked the truck in the embattled mayor’s dedicated parking spot at town hall.
Yes, Mo Hill has his own spot that even has his name tag on it.

He extended the boom of his truck to block the town hall parking lot from denying other township employees access to park.
“On Monday, March 22, 2021, police were called to Freedom Towing & Recovery on Route 9, for a report of vehicle theft. Surveillance video shows David Giordano, 43 of Toms River, entering the truck and driving it through the locked gate of the property,” Toms River Police Spokesperson Jillian Messina reported. “The bucket truck was found parked illegally at Toms River Town Hall in the Mayor’s parking space later that morning. The boom of the truck was extended blocking trucks from passing by.”

The vehicle was impounded by Toms River for 313 days
Giordano’s truck had been in an impound yard since the beginning of the pandemic, due to unpaid bills the department said.
“The vehicle belonged to Mr. Giordiano, however, it had been impounded and was in the lot for 313 days due to unpaid invoices owed for the impound and storage of the vehicle. Mr. Giordiano was arrested on March 30, 2021, and charged with Theft of Movable Property, Theft of Services, Burglary, and Criminal Mischief. He is currently lodged in Ocean County Jail,” Messina said.

“On March 30, 2021, the Toms River Police Department was contacted in reference to criminal mischief on Hooper Ave. The investigation revealed that Mr. Giordiano was responsible for painting a four inch wide blue line between the double yellow lines on Hooper Ave. and was issued a summons for Criminal Mischief,” Messina said. “While we appreciate the overwhelming support for law enforcement, we cannot condone the defacing of any property. Due to Mr. Giordano’s extensive history with the Toms River Police Department and justice system, it was necessary to take this course of action.”
