Toms River launches spring break skateboarding camp for kids

Toms River’s spring skateboarding camp gives young riders a safe place to shred during break.

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Toms River Recreation has opened registration for its Spring Break Skateboarding Adventure Camp 2.0, offering sessions for children ages 6 to 15 from April 21 to 25 at the Toms River Skate Park.

The camp, hosted in partnership with Coastline Adventures, runs daily with sessions for first-timers and beginners from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., and intermediate skaters from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participation is capped at 8 skaters per time slot.

The program is led by certified instructors and includes instruction in skateboarding basics, safety, and etiquette. Intermediate participants will focus on refining skills and learning advanced tricks. A jam session on the final day will showcase participants’ progress.

The $250 fee includes five days of instruction. Required gear includes a skateboard (no penny boards), helmet, flat-soled shoes, and elbow and knee pads. Wrist guards are optional.

The camp takes place at the Toms River Skate Park, located at 1545 North Bay Avenue. The rain date is set for April 26.
