Suspect sought after three highway shootings overnight in Prince George’s County

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — A series of overnight highway shootings across Prince George’s County has prompted a search for a suspect believed to be connected to all three incidents, Maryland State Police said.

The shootings began around 10:35 p.m. on March 16 along Route 5 at Allentown Road.

A second incident was reported about 10:47 p.m. on the ramp from northbound Route 5 to the outer loop of Interstate 495/95.

A third shooting occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. on southbound I-495/95 near Ardwick Ardmore Road.

Investigators believe all three incidents are related.

Authorities said no fatalities were reported in any of the shootings.

Police are searching for a suspect described as an African American man wearing a dark sweatshirt or top and light-colored pants.

Investigators also believe the suspect vehicle may be a red or burgundy Dodge Challenger or Dodge Charger.
