Two Charged for Murder in January 6 Manhattan Attack

NEW YORK, NY – On Saturday, January 6, police were called to a scene of a violent attack at 247 West 38th Street, within the 14th Precinct, at around 1:35 PM. Officers found Tobias Savice, a 35-year-old man, with a gunshot wound to his ankle. Emergency Medical Services transported Savice to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was initially reported in stable condition.

Savice later succumbed to his injuries, and the incident has been classified as a homicide by the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner.

In a significant development on Monday, February 5, at about 9:15 PM, police made arrests linked to this case. Jarel Moore, a 38-year-old from New York, NY, and Richard Johnson, a 34-year-old also from New York, NY, were apprehended within the 14th Precinct. Both individuals face charges of robbery and assault in connection with the January incident.
