Violent Night in Philadelphia Leaves Two Dead, Three Injured

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A series of shootings unfolded in Philadelphia overnight, resulting in two fatalities and three injuries, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

The first incident occurred on the 500 block of South Salford Street just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday, where a 20-year-old male victim was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Less than three hours later, another shooting on the 3900 block of North 6th Street in the Hunting Park neighborhood left a man in his 20s dead and a 36-year-old man injured.

The younger man, who was shot multiple times in the head, was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The 36-year-old man, who was shot four times, survived the incident.

In a separate incident just before 2 a.m., a 30-year-old man was shot outside LB’s Lounge on North 5th Street by a security guard after he was asked to leave the establishment and returned with a weapon. The man is now in police custody, and the weapon was recovered by police. The security guard cooperated with the investigation, and his weapon was retained by the police. Investigations into all incidents are ongoing.
