NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL – Volusia County Deputy Wes Brough successfully talked a man out of jumping off the causeway bridge in New Smyrna Beach last week. The ordeal was captured on video.
“Last week, Deputy Wes Brough responded to the South Causeway Bridge to assist the New Smyrna Beach Police Department with a young man who was threatening to jump,” the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office reported. “The officers were able to establish a dialogue with the young man, and Deputy Brough held his hand as they brought him down to safety.”
