WILKES-BARRE, PA- A theft by unlawful taking was reported on South River Street leading to an active investigation by the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department. On Monday, October 7th, at 4:00 PM, a 28-year-old woman from Wilkes-Barre visited the City Headquarters to report that her firearm had been stolen.

The victim explained that she had hosted a party at her home on October 5th. The following day, upon checking her bathroom cabinet, she discovered that her Taurus 9mm semi-automatic handgun was missing. There was no information on any suspect at the time of the report.

Police confirmed the incident and are investigating to locate the missing firearm. The case is logged under IRC Number 240217827, and authorities are working to identify any leads on the person responsible.
