WILKES-BARRE, PA — Police in Wilkes-Barre are investigating an incident in which an Uber driver was allegedly threatened with a firearm by a passenger during an argument early Thursday morning.

The incident occurred around 1:09 a.m. when the victim, a 34-year-old man from Kingston, PA, approached officers in the area of 15 South Main Street. He told police he had picked up two male passengers in Kingston and was driving them to a preselected destination when one of the passengers began arguing with him and demanded to be dropped off at a different location.

After the driver dropped the two men off at an alternate location on West Chestnut Street, one of the passengers reportedly threatened him with physical harm and displayed a firearm in his waistband. The driver fled the area and contacted police. The victim also noted that the suspect who displayed the weapon was wearing a ski mask during the incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
