BALTIMORE, Md. — A winter weather advisory is in effect for Baltimore City from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday as snow, sleet, and rain are expected to create hazardous conditions, according to the National Weather Service and Baltimore Police Department.

The forecast predicts a mix of rain, snow, and sleet through early afternoon, transitioning to snow by 3 p.m., which could be heavy at times. Daytime temperatures are expected to peak near 38 degrees with north winds up to 17 mph, gusting to 24 mph. Total snow and sleet accumulation of 2 to 4 inches is possible.

Snow is expected to taper off by early evening, with temperatures dropping to around 21 degrees overnight. Additional snow accumulation of less than an inch is possible.

Police are urging residents to plan ahead, drive carefully on potentially slick roads, and keep phones charged in case of emergencies.

More updates will follow as the storm develops.
