Woman accused of deadly hit and run didn't think she "hit him that hard"

MOUNT MORRIS TOWNSHIP, MI – A tragic incident on the night of June 9 has led to the arrest of 26-year-old Cheyenne White, who is accused of leaving the scene of a fatal accident. The collision occurred at the intersection of Kelly Road and N. Elms Road, roughly 65 miles northwest of Detroit, and resulted in the death of 26-year-old Sebastian Klein.

According to reports from Flint’s WSMH, Mount Morris Township Police responded to an emergency call around 10:30 p.m. regarding a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, emergency responders were already attending to Klein, who unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

She later said she fled the scene because she didn’t think he hit him that hard.

Investigators quickly focused on locating the vehicle involved. A critical clue was found near the site—a passenger side mirror believed to have come from the striking vehicle. Bay City’s WNEM reported that the mirror’s manufacturer number helped confirm it belonged to a Chrysler-made vehicle. Further investigation using area surveillance footage led authorities to a Jeep, also manufactured by Chrysler, which was missing a mirror and exhibited front-end damage consistent with the collision.

Cheyenne White was subsequently arrested and has been charged with failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in serious impairment or death. This case highlights the severe consequences of leaving the scene of an accident, especially when a fatality is involved.
