BOSTON, MA – A woman was shot and killed Monday afternoon in Roxbury, prompting a full homicide investigation by Boston police.
The shooting occurred around 1:07 p.m. in the area of 1855 Washington Street, where responding officers from District D-4 found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of family.
Detectives from the Boston Police Homicide Unit remained at the scene for several hours Monday, collecting evidence and canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses.
