$1 million Powerball ticket sold in Essex County

TRENTON — A New Jersey Lottery ticket sold in Newark matched five of the five white balls in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing, earning the $1 million second-tier prize.

The ticket, sold at Variedades Ecualatinas at 262 Ferry St. in Essex County, matched the numbers 01, 11, 22, 47, and 68 from the September 18 drawing. The Red Powerball number was 07, and the Power Play multiplier was 4X.

In addition to the million-dollar winner, 21,504 players across New Jersey won a total of $150,444 in prizes, with amounts ranging from $4 to $400.

The Powerball jackpot continues to grow, with an estimated $195 million up for grabs in the next drawing on Saturday, September 21.

For players who opted for the Double Play feature, the winning numbers from the Double Play drawing were 16, 23, 50, 53, and 66, with a Double Play Ball number of 14.
