NEW YORK, NY – An 11-year-old girl who was shot in the stomach by a pair of men riding a scooter has died tonight police have reported. According to police, on Monday at around 4:50 pm, the pair fired their gun, striking the girl in the area of 995 Westchester Avenue in the Longwood section of the Bronx.
The two men were chasing a man who was fleeing when the shots rang out, police said. Instead of hitting their target, a bullet struck the child. The girl ran into a nearby nail salon begging for help, in tears, crying in pain. She was rushed to Lincoln Hospital where she later died.
