12-Year-Old Arrested for Assault in Jamaica Plain

BOSTON, MA— A 12-year-old juvenile male was arrested by the Boston Police Department on an assault charge involving a dangerous weapon on Sunday evening. The incident occurred at around 6:36 PM in the Jamaica Plain area, specifically near the intersection of Washington Street and Chilcott Street.

Officers from District E-13 responded to a radio call reporting a person with a knife. Upon arrival, they were given a description of a group of five juveniles who had allegedly threatened someone with a knife. The police quickly located and stopped a group that matched the description at the corner of Montebello and Haverford Streets.

During the stop, officers frisked the suspects and found a knife on one of the juveniles. The 12-year-old was then taken into custody and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

He is scheduled to be arraigned at Boston Juvenile Court.
