12-Year-Old Girl Randomly Shot Inside Her D.C. Home

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A 12-year-old girl was shot last night in Southeast D.C. while in her home.

The incident occurred in the 3000 block of 30th Street around 8:30 p.m., and the girl was discovered shot inside her home. According to the police, the shooting appears to be random, and they do not believe the girl was the intended target.

Fortunately, she was conscious and breathing when first responders arrived. She was taken to a nearby hospital and is currently in stable condition.

The authorities have detained a person of interest, but they have not labeled them as a suspect in the shooting. A firearm was also recovered at the scene.
