13-Year-Old Dead in Wilkes-Barre Shooting

WILKES-BARRE, PA – A juvenile-involved shooting death occurred in the Midland Court area, as reported by the Wilkes-Barre Police on Tuesday. Today, police confirmed the death of a 13-year-old boy in an incident that detectives are still investigating. Police said he was shot in the head.

The incident, according to police, involved several juveniles, including an injured victim who succumbed to their injuries.

Life-saving measures were attempted but were unsuccessful. The Luzerne County coroner’s office was contacted, and the scene was secured for investigation.

The Wilkes-Barre Detective Division, Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office, and the Pennsylvania State Police FSU Unit are collaboratively investigating.

A juvenile suspect has been arrested and is awaiting further court proceedings. The investigation is ongoing, with an autopsy confirming the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head and ruling it a homicide.
