13-Year-Old Reported Missing in Newark

NEWARK, NJ – Newark’s Public Safety Director, Fritz G. Fragé, is reaching out to the community for help in locating a missing individual. Leo Abara, a 33-year-old resident of Newark, was reported missing yesterday, on Saturday, July 29.

Mr. Abara, who is diagnosed with schizophrenia, was last seen around 6 p.m. in the 400 block of South 17th Street. Concerns for his well-being are high, and authorities are urging the public to assist in any way they can to help bring him back safely.

Leo Abara is described as approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall with a dark brown complexion.

At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black shirt, black pants, and distinctive yellow Fila sneakers. Additionally, he was carrying a black book bag.

Director Fragé is appealing to anyone who might have any information regarding Leo Abara’s whereabouts to come forward and report it to the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
