14-year-old among two teens arrested in D.C. purse-snatching robbery

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Two juveniles have been arrested in connection with a robbery in Northwest D.C. after allegedly stealing a woman’s purse on Sunday night, police announced Monday.

The incident occurred around 8:59 p.m. in the 1100 block of Girard Street Northwest. According to the victim, two suspects approached her, grabbed her purse, and fled the scene.

Responding officers from the Third District conducted a search and located the suspects in a nearby alleyway. The stolen property was recovered during the arrests.

The suspects, identified as a 14-year-old male and a 16-year-old male, both from Northwest D.C., were taken into custody and charged with robbery (snatch).
