14-year-old arrested for violent attack against 71-year-old NYC man

NEW YORK, NY – A 14-year-old male has been arrested and charged with assault following an ongoing investigation into an attack on a 71-year-old man last week in Midtown.

The attack happened at 235 W. 55 Street on Saturday, May 6, at approximately 9:06 p.m.

A 71-year-old male victim was approached by an unidentified person who proceeded to punch him in the face and push him to the ground.

Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene, and the victim was subsequently transported to Mt. Sinai West for medical treatment. The assailant then fled in a westward direction along W. 55 Street.

Police did not identify the boy due to his age.
