14-Year-Old Girl Dies After Triple Shooting In District Heights

District Heights, Md. — Authorities are urging the public to come forward with information regarding a triple shooting in District Heights that resulted in the death of a 14-year-old girl.

The victim, identified as Khamya Ferrell of Suitland, succumbed to her injuries on June 5, five days after the shooting. The incident also left two adults injured.

Prince George’s County Police are offering a cash reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment. The shooting occurred on May 31, just before 2 p.m., when officers responded to a call on Atwood Street. Ferrell and a woman were found shot inside an apartment, while a man was discovered shot outside. All three were transported to a local hospital.

Detectives are working to identify a suspect and determine the motive. Investigators do not believe Ferrell was intentionally targeted.
