WASHINGTON, DC – A teen has been taken into custody by the D.C. Metro Police Department following a heated altercation that escalated to armed threats and property damage. The incident originally occurred on Sunday, April 7th, where a confrontation involving multiple individuals in a vehicle led to significant threats and violence.
During the dispute, which unfolded around 12:55 p.m. in the 600 block of Morton Place in Northeast D.C., the teen suspect brandished a rifle after exiting the vehicle with other passengers. Authorities reported that the suspect threatened one victim with the firearm, subsequently using it to shatter a window of the vehicle before aiming it at another victim. The victims managed to escape, and police later recovered the weapon.
The 14-year-old male from Northeast Washington turned himself in to the authorities at the Fifth District Police Station on Wednesday.
The teen faces multiple charges, including Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device, and other related offenses.
