15-Year-Old Arrested for Armed Robbery in Dorchester

DORCHESTER, MA — Boston Police have arrested a 15-year-old male for armed robbery following an incident on Sunday afternoon at approximately 4:16 PM. The arrest occurred in the Mattapan neighborhood, specifically at 86 Southern Avenue. Responding to a robbery report, officers were informed that several individuals attempted to rob a victim of her moped, with one suspect making a threatening gesture towards his waistband to imply he was armed.

The suspect successfully stole the moped but crashed shortly after the theft. A second individual involved took the victim’s bag. Police, upon arrival, witnessed the suspects fleeing the scene and pursued them to the rear of 60 Southern Avenue. During the chase, the arrested juvenile was seen discarding an item over a fence, later identified as a large kitchen knife.

The young male is now facing charges of armed robbery and will be arraigned at the Dorchester District Court.
