15-year-old arrested in armed carjacking on 48th Place

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 15-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred in Northeast Washington in September.

The incident took place on Sept. 19 at approximately 10:31 p.m. in the 500 block of 48th Place, Northeast. The suspect exited a vehicle, approached the victim, and brandished a handgun while demanding the victim exit their car. The victim complied, and the suspect fled the scene in the stolen vehicle, which was later recovered by authorities.

On Dec. 11, the juvenile suspect, a resident of Northeast D.C., was taken into custody and charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun).

The case remains under investigation, and police are seeking additional information. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for tips leading to further arrests or convictions in connection with this or other violent crimes in the District.
