BROOKLYN, NY – On Tuesday, January 2, at around 9:00 PM, police responded to a shooting reported via 911 outside 1550 East 102 Street, in the 69 Precinct/Police Service Area #1. Officers found a 15-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the torso.
Emergency services rushed the teenager, identified as Javel Lawton, to NYC Health and Hospitals/Brookdale. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Lawton resided at 547 East 92 Street, Brooklyn.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing.
