16-year-old girl charged with armed robbery at Brooklyn Park grocery store

On November 30, 2022, at approximately 11:20 p.m., officers responded for an attempted robbery at La Quetzalteca Latin Grocery located at 5031 Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park.

BROOKLYN, MD – A 16-year-old girl was arrested and charged with armed robbery and assault at a local business in Brook Park on Wednesday.

Officers were dispatched to 5031 Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park on Wednesday, for an attempted robbery at La Quetzalteca Latin Grocery. Despite the business being closed, a female suspect forced her way in.

In addition to threatening to kill one of the employees with a handgun, the female struck the employee in the head with the weapon. In order to secure the door, the employees forced the suspect outside.

Officers responding to the incident located the suspect nearby, who was in possession of an unloaded black semiautomatic handgun. An arrest was made and charges were filed against the female.
