16-year-old shot in Columbus early Thursday morning

COLUMBUS, OH – Early on Thursday morning, an 18-year-old man was arrested in connection to a shooting incident. Deven Howard stands accused of shooting a 16-year-old girl near Hamilton Avenue and Clinton Street just before 2 a.m.

The injured girl was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.

Howard was taken into custody without further incident.

As of now, it is unclear what led to the shooting, but investigators are working to piece together the events leading up to the incident. As the investigation is ongoing, more details are expected to be released later.
