16-year-old shot inside vehicle, in serious condition

CHICAGO, IL – A 16-year-old male was shot in the abdomen while inside a vehicle on the 4500 block of S. Ashland Avenue on Monday at approximately 7:11 p.m. The unknown offender fled the scene, leaving the victim in serious condition.

The teenager was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital, where medical staff tended to his injuries. Area One Detectives are currently investigating the incident and asking anyone with information to come forward.

No arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified.
