17 Year-Old Arrested in D.C. For the Shooting Death of 16 Year-Old

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department have made an arrest in the shooting death of a 16 year-old on Southeast D.C. This incident happened on February 9th on the Block of Chesapeake Street.

According to detectives, “At approximately 8:09 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located a juvenile male victim, inside of a vehicle, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.  On Friday, February 11, 2022, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.”

16 year-old DeShawn Francis, of Alexandria, Virginia was named as the victim.

17 year-old Eugene Williams, of Southeast, D.C. was arrested on April 28th by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force. Williams was charged with First Degree Murder while Armed . He was also charged as an adult.
