17-year-old shot on West 47th street, gunman flees

CHICAGO, IL – A teen was shot by an unknown gunman Monday night in Chicago.

At approximately 7:31 p.m., a 17-year-old male was shot in the lower body after exiting a parked vehicle on the 1600 block of W. 47th St. The unknown offender managed to escape, leaving the victim injured and in need of urgent medical attention.

The teen victim was quickly transported to the University of Chicago Hospital, where his condition remains unknown.

Detectives are actively investigating the case, trying to identify the shooter and uncover the motive behind the attack.
