Williamsport police investigating Memorial Avenue shooting that injured teen

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – An 18-year-old man is recovering after being shot early Monday morning in the 1700 block of Memorial Avenue, Williamsport police said.

Officers were dispatched at about 2:27 a.m. on September 29 after reports of multiple gunshots and the sound of screeching tires. While police were still on scene, another call came in reporting a gunshot victim inside a nearby residence.

Responding officers found an 18-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower torso. He was taken to UPMC for treatment and is expected to survive.

Investigators and forensic personnel processed the scene, collecting evidence before clearing the area. The investigation remains active.
