20-year-old man shot and killed in front of Brooklyn home

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A 20-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday evening in Brooklyn, prompting an active homicide investigation, police said.

At approximately 5:31 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call reporting a male shot in front of 2326 West 8th Street, within the jurisdiction of the 60th Precinct and Police Service Area 1.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Emergency Medical Services transported him to NYU Langone Hospital–Brooklyn, where he was pronounced dead.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.

No arrests reported

As of Wednesday night, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and canvassing the area for witnesses.
