20-year-old Caron Means shot and killed on Thanksgiving in Pikesville

PIKESVILLE, Md. — Baltimore County Police are investigating the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Caron Means, who was killed Thursday afternoon in the unit block of Hawthorne Avenue.

Officers from the Pikesville Precinct responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 2:45 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Means suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives believe the shooting was an isolated incident and assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community.

The investigation is ongoing as police work to determine the circumstances surrounding Means’ death.

Authorities have not released any additional details, including information about potential suspects.
