Arrest in Lakewood Shooting

An arrest has been made following a shooting last Thursday in Lakewood, according to local police.

Tom Greene, a 44-year-old resident of Lakewood, was taken into custody the same day police say he shot a Toms River man. Greene allegedly attempted to flee the scene in his vehicle.

Police found two guns in Greene’s vehicle when they pulled him over a short time later. At one point during the traffic stop, Lakewood Police says the subject again attempted to flee.

He is charged with attempted murder and a number of weapons violations, and for attempting to elude authorities. Bail was set at $975,000.

The man shot is reportedly stabilized and recovering. Greene is being held at the Ocean County Jail.
