HS ICE HOCKEY: Jackson Memorial Tops Brick Memorial 3-1

The Jackson Memorial High School hockey team overcame an early deficit Sunday, scoring three unanswered goals to defeat host Brick Memorial, 3-1.

The Mustangs took a 1-0 lead with 14:46 left in the first period when John Wardlaw scored with an assist from Justin Hulse. But Michael Krzyzewshy scored a power play goal 37 seconds later with assists from Cody Jablonski and Chris Petrone to make the score 1-1.

The game remained tied until the final minute of the second period when Trevor Cear scored to give the Jaguars a 2-1 lead. Chris Petrone finished off the scoring with an empty net goal late in the third period.

Goalie Matt Pousson made 15 saves to earn the win for Jackson Memorial. Andrew Slobiski stopped 36 of the 38 shots he faced for Brick Memorial.
