Weather Emergency Update – Lacey Township Police Department – Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 8:00 a.m.

Weather Emergency Update (Sunday, 1/24/16 at 8:00 a.m.) – Lacey Township currently has some homes without power as of 8:00 a.m. this morning. Some areas that were reported to have been restored have since been verified as still being without power (e.g., Hidden Harbor Place in Lanoka Harbor). This is of great concern due to the cold weather and the prolonged period of the outages. The public can assist by checking with friends, family and neighbors to verify that they are OK and to ascertain if they are affected by a power outage. Continuing power outages throughout today need to be reported to the police department, so we can check the well-being of residents as needed and address the continuing issues with the power company. JCP&L has advised that further repairs in Lacey Township will be addressed as crews become available.

The roadways will remain very slippery throughout the day. If it is necessary to drive today, extreme caution must be exercised and speed must be significantly reduced. It is recommended that the general public stay off the roadways if possible.  – Chief David A. Paprota, Ed.D.
