HS WRESTLING: Manalapan Defeats Toms River North 43-18

The Manalapan High School wrestling team had two pins and a major decision Thursday on its way to a 43-18 win over Toms River North in the preliminary round of the Shore Conference Tournament at Howell High School.

Justin Obermeyer pinned Mychal Beerman at 182 pounds and Jake Staklinski pinned Hector Salazar at 195 pounds for the Braves. Anthony Coposky won a 15-2 major decision over Sal Antinozzi at 132 pounds for Manalapan and the Braves also won five matches by decision and two by forfeit.

James Cauldwell pinned Andrew Burstyn at 160 pounds and Michael DeGennaro pinned Joe Thompson at 170 pounds for the Mariners. Chris Renda won a 6-0 decision over Trevor Radosevich at 285 pounds and Nick Reilly won a 3-1 decision over AJ Sortino at 113 pounds for Toms River North.
