HS WRESTLING: St. John Vianney Upsets Jackson Memorial 30-29

The St. John Vianney High School wrestling team won three pins and four decisions Wednesday to upset host Jackson Memorial, 30-29. The Jaguars were within striking distance entering the final match of the meet, but Christopher Mondello’s 8-2 decision over Jacob White at 220 pounds left Jackson Memorial one point short of the Lancers.

Carsten Digiantomasso and Michael Spino had pins for the Jaguars. Tyler Mitrosky won a 10-2 major decision over Padriac Smith at 120 pounds and Matt McGowen won an 11-3 major decision over Joseph Vasile at 132 pounds for Jackson Memorial. The Jaguars also won three matches by decision.

Luke Ecklof, Jack McLafferty and Josiah Walker had pins for St. Joihn Vianney.
