HS BOYS BOWLING: Brick Township’s Malizia Wins Individual Shore Conference Tournament

Junior Jordan Malizia of Brick Township High School defeated Andrew Lazarchick of Brick Memorial on Wednesday, 243-227, in the final round of the Shore Conference Boys Individual Bowling Tournament.

Malizia, whose 198.36 average ranked 39th in the Shore Conference during the regular season, bowled a three-game series of 635 in the tournament’s qualifying round to earn the fifth seed. He then defeated fourth-seeded Jason Schumann of Toms River East in the quarterfinals and eighth-seeded Matt Lally of Southern Regional in the semifinals.

Lazarchick had a 218.92 regular-season average, good for fourth-best in the Shore Conference. He bowled a 662 three-game series in qualifying to earn the second seed. He defeated Brandon Lynch of Middletown South and Cullen Asaro of Brick Memorial to reach the finals.
