HS GIRLS BOWLING: Brick Memorial’s Downs Edges Teammate Boughton in Shore Conference Final

Senior Misty Downs of Brick Memorial High School beat fellow Mustang Tori Boughton, 204-203, in the final round of the Shore Conference Girls Individual Bowling Tournament on Wednesday.

Downs earned the bracket’s top seed by bowling a three-game series of 638 in the qualifying round. She then defeated Samantha Douglas of Barnegat in the quarterfinals and Brianna MacLeod of Brick Township in the semifinals.

Boughton, whose 213.56 regular-season average was best in the Shore Conference, bowled a three-game set of 600 in the qualifying round to earn the sixth-seed. She defeated Jessica Ormsby of Jackson Memorial and McKenna Collier, also of Brick Memorial, to reach the finals.
