Ocean County receives a $580,446 State Grant

OCEAN COUNTY – Popular recycling programs in Ocean County will continue with the help of a state recycling grant of $580,446.

The grant from the 2015 Recycling Enhancement Act Tax Fund, County Entitlement Program, will support the county’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection program and the Master Composter Program. About $100,000 will go toward the waste collection program, which allows residents to properly dispose of hazardous items on their property.

The money will also be used to help partially fund the purchase of a roll-off truck and a wheel loader for the composters program. “With this funding we can continue recycling programs that provide numerous environmental benefits and assist our citizens,” said Board of Chosen Freeholder Gerry P. Little.
