HS GIRLS BASKETBALL: 18 Points for Gregorio in Toms River South Win

Maria Gregorio scored 18 points Tuesday to lead the visiting Toms River South High School girls basketball team to a 59-33 win over 15th-seeded Point Pleasant Borough in the first round of the Shore Conference Tournament.

Emily Donzanti scored 12 points and Danielle Ferreri had 11 for the 18th-seeded Indians, who held a 14-point lead at the end of the first quarter.

Ally Lassen scored 13 points and Megan Hughes added nine for the Panthers.

Toms River South will face second-seeded Rumson-Fair Haven on Thursday in the second round.
