HS GIRLS BASKETBALL: St. Rose Tops Toms River North 85-48

Lucy Thomas scored 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds Thursday to lead the fourth-seeded St. Rose High School girls basketball team to an 85-48 win over visiting Toms River North in the second round of the Shore Conference Tournament.

Mikayla Markham scored 14 points and had seven assists for the Purple Roses, who held a 47-16 lead at halftime. Ellyn Stoll and Jen Louro scored 11 points each for St. Rose.

Jenn Paul scored 17 points for the 13th-seeded Mariners.
