HS BOYS BASKETBALL: Southern Regional Defeats Donovan Catholic 71-63

The Donovan Catholic High School boys basketball team held a five-point lead at the end of the third quarter Thursday but couldn’t hold on as visiting Southern Regional came back to defeat the Griffins, 71-63.

Senior Peyton Wejnert, who is slated to play for Division II Pace University next year, scored 30 points and pulled down 16 rebounds for the Rams. Ethan Dubois added 24 points and five assists for Southern Regional.

Riley Collins led Donovan Catholic with 20 points on six 3-pointers and two free throws. Kevin Singleton scored 17 points and Mike Boice added 11 for the Griffins.
