Prosecutor: Middle Township Athletic Director Stole Cash from School Sports Account

Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Middle Township Police Chief Christopher Leusner announce the arrest of Scott Lodgek, age 48 of Linwood.  On September 12, 2017, the Middle Township School District reported that an amount of money was found to be missing from the Middle Township High School Sports Account.  The Middle Township Police Department Major Crimes Unit conducted an investigation which revealed that Middle Township High School Athletic Director, Scott Lodgek, took an amount of cash (totaling $1,825) from the school’s sports account on two (2) separate occasions.  During the investigation Lodgek admitted to taking an amount of cash.  Lodgek was charged with Official Misconduct, a 2nd degree crime and Theft, a 3rd degree crime.  Lodgek was processed and released on a summons pending court.
