Historic Cedar Bridge Tavern, located on 5 acres deep in the NJ Pine Barrens south of Rt 72, dates back to 1816. However, the history of the site reaches much further. It is rumored that the last land skirmish of the American Revolution occurred here on December 27, 1782.
There was a tavern on this site in the late 1700’s. This project is restoring the second tavern on site to the 1812 version.
Due to the tavern’s 200 year history as a hub for locals and crossroads for travelers, the tavern is listed on the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places. The site is closed to the general public while the historic preservation project is under way
