Ocean County Republicans Sweep State Level Elections

TOMS RIVER-Ocean County’s state-level Republican leaders swept their Democrat opponents on election night in the polls.

Candidates in Ocean County’s 9th, 10th, 12th and 30th legislative districts all went home winners Tuesday night.

In the 9th district, Senator Christopher Connors defeated his opponent Brian White by 32 points.   Running mates Brian Rumpf and DiAnne Gove also soundly defeated their Democrat challengers.

In the 10th district, Senator Holzapfel defeated Emma Mammano 62% to 37%.  David Wolfe and Gregory McGuckin won the assembly seats by large margins.

In the 12th district, Senator Sam Thompson triumphed with a 25% margin victory over David Lande. Assemblymen Ron Dancer and Robert Clifton defeated their Jackson opponents by a nearly 2-1 margin.

In the 30th district, Robert Singer defeated Amy Cores by 30 points, despite a very energetic effort by the Howell Township attorney to challenge Singer and his Lakewood constituency.

Sean Kean and Edward Thompson also beat their District 30 opponents 2 to 1 in the assembly vote.
