Toms River Fire Department Responds to Fire in East Dover Section of Town

From The Toms River Police Department:

On January 22nd at 11:57 am Police, Fire, and Medical units were alerted to a smoke condition at 51 Oak Glen Road. The resident was home at the time and observed the smoke in the upstairs of the house. She immediately fled to safety and did not sustain any injuries. Upon arrival; smoke was billowing out of the garage and roof line of the home. Toms River Fire Departments #1, #2, East Dover, Silverton, and Pleasant Plains arrived and quickly brought the situation under control before any flames could spread to the main living area. The Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention along with the Toms River Police Department Criminal Investigation Bureau are conducting the investigation. The initial indications are that the fire initiated in the garage and was mainly contained to that area. The exact origin is not yet known.
