Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato and Jackson Police Chief Matthew D. Kunz today announced the arrest of Genuine Baines, 19, of Trenton, NJ and Lindsay Robson, 28, of Robbinsville, NJ in connection with the drug induced death of Lisa Guadagno, 42, of Jackson.
“Prosecutor Coronato stated, “OCPO will continue to lead the way in developing Strict Liability/Drug Induced Death cases. It’s critical during this opiate crisis we take strong punitive measures against dealers bringing death to those fighting addiction”.
Det. John Carroll of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Unit and Det. Robert Reiff of the Jackson Police Department immediately began an investigation into who was responsible for allegedly supplying the fatal narcotic to Guadagno. The subsequent investigation would result in identifying Baines and Robson as the alleged supplying dealers. After receiving a toxicology and final autopsy report for the decedent confirming the death to be drug induced, arrest warrants were authorized for both Baines and Robson.
Robson was taken into custody in mid-December, however, Baines had fled. Det. Carroll forwarded a warrant for Baines to the U. S. Marshal’s Service Fugitive Task Force in Mercer County, N.J. OCPO was notified this past week that Baines was taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force at a residence in Hamilton Township, N.J.
The media and public are reminded that criminal charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
